Mrs. Morgan Lautz’s Algebra students put a fun, hands-on twist on solving linear inequalities this week! Each group first solved a problem, then created puzzle pieces using the symbols and numbers from each step of their solution. Groups traded puzzles, and without using pencils, their classmates had to reconstruct the solution by putting the pieces in the correct order. To take the challenge one step further, students also had to explain and justify why each step was necessary.
The activity had students moving, collaborating, communicating, and thinking critically together — all key mathematical skills the WLHS Math Department works to develop in students every day.
