New Wisco Fishing Club - Donations and Volunteers Needed!

At Wisconsin Lutheran High School, we encourage students to get involved beyond the classroom! Clubs and co-curricular activities provide opportunities to explore interests, build friendships, and develop new skills. Sometimes, all it takes is one student's idea to create something new!

Our new Wisco Fishing Club is a great example! This student-inspired club is off to an impressive start, with approximately 50 students signed up! Open to all students, regardless of fishing experience, the club plans to fish monthly from November through the end of the school year, enjoy ice fishing when conditions are safe, and head out on the water for at least one spring boating excursion.

Here's where our Wisco family can help!
Many students are new to fishing and don't yet have their own equipment. The club is seeking donations of gently used, working fishing gear, including:
  • Fishing rods, reels, tackle boxes, and assorted tackle
  • Ice-fishing rods, tip-ups, augers, scoops, and sleds
  • Ice cleats and life jackets
Calling All Boat Owners! The club is also looking for volunteers willing to serve as boat captains for a spring fishing outing.

Have equipment to donate or a boat to share? Please contact Mr. Mark Sward at mark.sward@wlhs.org.

Thank you for helping turn a student-led idea into another great opportunity for our Vikings!
