Summer Mission Trips Continue Serving Near and Far
WLHS summer mission trips are still underway! Students shared Christ’s love through service, fellowship, and cultural exchange in Florida and Antigua.
In Navarre, Florida, students partnered with Risen Savior Lutheran Church to coach its annual soccer camp, assist at a local food pantry, prepare welcome invitations for new community members, and participate in a beach cleanup. Along the way, they enjoyed Florida’s beaches, watched a Blue Angels practice, and experienced the congregation’s generous hospitality. We thank Pastor Craig Born, his wife, Jennifer, and everyone at Risen Savior for welcoming our team!

In San Antonio, Texas, WLHS students helped Our Savior Lutheran Church host a basketball camp for approximately 100 children. Students set up and led the camp each day, assisted with campus cleanup, led evening devotions, and built relationships with the children and families who attended. The group also enjoyed a Suds and Sundaes party, visited Corpus Christi and SeaWorld, explored the Alamo and River Walk, and experienced El Mercado, San Antonio’s historic Mexican market.
In Antigua, students served at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran VBS Sports Camp, leading soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cheer sessions while building meaningful relationships with local youth. They also experienced Antiguan culture by visiting Devil’s Bridge, Stingray City, and Shirley Heights. The week concluded with students playing steel pans and singing during the congregation’s Sunday youth service.
