One of the Family
Hansen Sun (freshman from Beijing, China who lives in Eden House) describes his experience with a wonderful family over Spring Break . . .
"At the time of the spring break, Mr. Ricke arranged me to stay with a really nice family. Their family has three children, Jonas, henry and Alex. Jonas is a 12 year old student, He likes to play basketball, baseball. But also proficient in playing drums, and occasionally plays chess with me, he is a very cheerful and outstanding boy, Alex is a very quiet boy, always silently standing on the side to listen to the views of others, and always holding a book. Henry is the youngest boy in the family, he likes fishing and basketball.
In the week of spring break, Mr. Jason and Mrs. Kathy show their enthusiasm to me. He take us to the basketball hall, library and so on. The most memorable thing is that we pray almost every day before dinner, it let me experience a Christian shows the enthusiasm of the Christianity, and also let me have a feeling---appreciate the loyalty of Christians, and Mr. Jason will give us the explanation of Bible. After that week we became friends.
Yesterday, May 13, Jason couples invited me to their home to go fishing, where I made a lot of friends,and also let me know some fishing skills,although the time was like a rapidly hourglass. But we accidentally got a big surprise, Henry caught a kind of freshwater fish-Northern Pike, it is a very ferocious and full of aggressive fish about 50 to 60 cm. Unfortunately, we can not take it, otherwise I will “cultivated” it for a long time.
Knowing a person and being familiar with a person has a totally difference. But this family can let me clearly realized their heart from the heart of concern and enthusiasm. I miss the time with them very much. Hoping that I can continue living in their home during next year's spring break."
