WLHS welcomed 23 new international students this August to the school community.
During orientation week, new students had training about how to be a successful WLHS student, experienced Wisconsin culture at the State Fair, and explored some of Milwaukee's city highlights. Leaders from various WLHS academic and student support departments presented information about school protocols and the unique culture at WLHS. Our student Global Leadership Team coordinated activities with the American mentors, who have been enthusiastically welcoming the new students into Wisco life.
This fall 16 countries comprise the international community at WLHS, including Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, Serbia, Brazil, Mexico, and Malawi, as well as five nations new to our community: Peru, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Norway.
Classes began for all students on August 14. As everyone settles into their regular academic routine, we look forward to a new year of growth together!
