Residential Students Connect at Annual Camp Weekend
The Wisconsin Lutheran High School Residential Program celebrated its annual Labor Day weekend camping trip with a memorable overnight adventure at Imago Dei Village Camp. Located approximately two hours north of Milwaukee, the camp provided comfortable cabin accommodations and a beautiful setting overlooking Long Lake. The weekend gave students, supervisors, and staff a wonderful opportunity to step away from their usual routines, strengthen relationships, and enjoy Wisconsin’s beautiful early-September weather together.
Students were divided into six teams for the weekend, creating opportunities to meet new people and build stronger connections with one another. Throughout the weekend, teams participated in conversations designed to deepen relationships, along with a variety of friendly competitions that encouraged students to work together, have fun, and show their team spirit.
There was also no shortage of activities to enjoy. Students could choose from active sports such as volleyball, basketball, Gaga Ball, and nine-square-in-the-air, as well as opportunities to swim in the lake and hike through the local woods. With so many options available, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Faith and reflection were woven throughout the weekend as well. Mr. Engel led an inspiring campfire devotion centered on John 3:16, while Mr. Landwehr led a morning devotion on forgiveness overlooking the lake. These meaningful moments brought everyone together and helped keep the Wisco Way at the heart of the Residential Program experience.
By the end of the weekend, students returned home tired but full of memories from a weekend packed with fun, friendship, and adventure. Many have already shared that they are looking forward to next year’s camping experience!
